Vehicles in Germany's Town Discovered Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police Report

Police reported they were alerted by a individual who found a automobile in Hanau smeared with reddish fluid

Roughly 50 automobiles have been covered with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to police.

Vehicles, walls and postal boxes were marked, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they announced in a statement.

Officers report they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a resident noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued liquid.

The liquid had been placed in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Law enforcement then found multiple other vandalized automobiles and house walls in the surrounding area.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under laws banning the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.

Officials say early analysis show the fluid was probably human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no lead as to its source; officials are currently not aware of any physical harm in connection with the occurrence," they commented.

Local authorities stated they were trying "to unravel the incident" and have appealed to the public for tips.

A high-ranking political figure commented the incident rendered him without words and needed to be addressed quickly.

"This incident strikes at the center of Hanau and reopens the pain of the far-right terrorist attack five years ago," he stated on a platform, recalling the killing of nine people by a gunman targeting residents of immigrant origin in February 2020.
